Solutions for higher education
Emerald-IT has developed several specialized solutions for Universities and other educational institutes. These solutions are always adapted to perfectly fit your processes and requirements and come with a wide range of common options and integrations already supported.
The solutions that we have directly available are for example the Thesis Management platform, a platform in which the complete thesis assessment process can be managed, including the communication between the first and second assessor and the board of examiners.
Next to the Thesis Assessment platform, we have solutions that provide support for Ethical Committees, managing internships, assigning students to groups or projects depending on their preferences, managing committee memberships and the calculation of the workload of your staff.
All these different solutions can be easily integrated for an optimal user experience. For example, the Workload Calculator can use the data available in the Thesis management system, the internship data from the Internship Solution, and the activities of members from the Committee Management module in order to efficiently update the calculated workload of all staff members.

Send starting members a welcome email with important attachments depending on the type of committee, assign replacement members and make meeting dates and contact information available to your students.

Next to the Committee Management solution, we also offer a support portal for Ethical Committees, in which research proposals can be submitted and assessed.
These proposals are automatically assigned to members of the ethical committee and for specific parts, such as the data management section, the data security officer is notified.

Divide the work load
With the Workload Calculator you always know who could be available for additional tasks and who is under pressure.
All kind of activities are included In the calculation of the workload, such as research, teaching but also internship guidance, assessing thesis and committee memberships.
By integrating the Workload module with the Thesis management, Committee management and Internship management modules, a lot of the workload information is automatically available. We can also develop custom integrations with for example an online study guide, to extract teacher and classroom data.

With the Student Assign module, you can optimally assign students to work groups, courses, thesis subject etc. Using the preferences of the students (top 3 for example), and optional rules that you can define in the system, an optimal assignment is automatically calculated.
